I love this Stevie Wonder song. It is one of the first song I ever heard from him as a youngster. This is a version that is a little different from the first one I heard but its jamming nonetheless. Check it out! Its Funky! The bass and drums are kickin! Jam on!
I love this song. I have been listening to it a lot lately. It reminds me a lot of my woman. Check it out!
Lyrics
Oh honey
When I get lost, feel I've been crossed She will be my salvation When I feel low, I've nowhere to go She'll be my inspiration
Yeah, when my poor heart is breakin' apart She'll pout it back together She ain't the kind to show off her mind But talkin' of love she's clever, yeah
Oh, honey (Oh, honey) Oh, honey (Oh, honey)
She rarely spends time with her friends Tells me she's blue without me When things go wrong her faith is strong I know she'll never doubt me
Yeah, when she arrives and stands by my side Makes me so proud to know her High-steppin' dames with high-soundin' names There ain't nothin' they could show her, yeah
Oh, honey (My honey) Oh, honey (Honey, honey)
Now I just wanna thank you, baby For givin' me a brand new start I was goin' down, you saved me When you let me in your lovin' heart, yeah
We love you Aretha Franklin! We love you Aretha Franklin! We love you Aretha Franklin!
Lyrics
Though you don't call anymore I sit and wait in vain I guess I'll rap on your door (your door) Tap on your window pane (tap on your window pane) I wanna tell you, baby Changes I've been going through (ooh) Missing you, listen, you 'Til you come back to me that's what I'm gonna do
Why did you have to decide You had to set me free? I'm gonna swallow my pride (my pride) I'm gonna beg you to please, baby, please see me (you never want to see me) I'm gonna walk by myself Just to prove that my love is true (ooh) All for you, baby 'Til you come back to me that's what I'm gonna do
Living for you, my dear Is like living in a world of constant tears Hear my plea (hear my plea) I've got to make you see (make you see) That our love is dying (our love is dying)
Although your phone you ignore Somehow I must, somehow I must, somehow I must explain I'm gonna rap on your door (your door) Tap on your window pane (tap on your window pane) I'm gonna camp by your steps Until I get through to you (ooh) I've got to change your view, baby 'Til you come back to me that's what I'm gonna do 'Til you come back to me that's what I'm gonna do 'Til you come back to me that's what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna rap on your door (tap on) Tap on your window pane (tap on) Open, open out baby, I'm gonna rap on your door (tap on) Tap on your, tap on your (tap on) Tap on your, tap on your window pane (tap on your window pane) I'm gonna rap on your door (tap on) I'm gonna tap on your window pane (tap on) Open out, baby

This past week has been a rough one for the music world. We have lost one of the greatest vocalists of our time. Aretha Louise Franklin born in Memphis, Tennessee was one of the most recognized soul singers of this modern era. Growing up singing in the New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan where her father C.L. Franklin ministered, Aretha wowed the congregation with her beautiful voice.
Aretha started singing gospel music at age 12, traveling with her father as he went on his ministry to various churches. Her father helped her to sign here first record deal in 1956 with J.V.B Records.
She made the switch from gospel to secular music in 1960 at age 18 signing with Columbia Records. Her first secular album was released in 1961. From 1961 to 1966, Aretha recorded with Columbia then decided to sign to Atlantic Records. She recorded with Atlantic from 1967 to 1979 where she recorded hits such as "I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)" , "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and the number 1 R&B chart topper "Something He Can Feel". Aretha left Atlantic for Clive Davis' Arista Records in 1980 where she recorded a duet with one of my favorite guitarist George Benson "Love All the Hurt Away". She was with Arista until 2007.
With for decades of music, there is no denying that this woman was and is the Queen Diva of Soul. This angel has impacted the world with her sultry voice. We are all blessed with the archives of music she has left for us. I have been listening to her music a lot lately. I am so thankful for this amazing woman. Peace and love to you all.
It has been about ten years since I started this blog.... I really enjoyed watching its growth. I very much appreciate everyone who has followed from the beginning.... ( I highly doubt that any of you will see this post) and I hope you all are well and in good spirits.
It has been an awkward ten years for me... Through those years I have come back and forth checking on this blog here and there. I really never let it go.
It's like when you love someone. It is so hard to let them go.... Oh yes, you can let them be for years but there comes a time when you just want to say hello.
This is how I feel about this blog and I truly love this music. I plan to post more content soon. If any of you who follow me would like to help with admin, posting, etc, please comment and I will be sure to contact you.
